An acquired brain injury can happen to anyone at any time. Rehabilitation often requires long-term specialised, flexible and co-ordinated services. Headway South Bedfordshire aims to support people with an acquired brain injury, their families and/or carers by providing these services throughout the wide diversity of communities in our area.

Headway South Bedfordshire’s main aims and objectives:
  • To provide professional care, support, information and advice to people, primarily aged 16-64, with an acquired brain injury, their families and/or carers.
  • To meet clients’ individual needs to enable them to live as independently as possible, increasing self-value and social inclusion within their own community.
  • To provide healthy, safe and stimulatory Centre and Community based activities, enabling clients to improve on or acquire new personal skills that will maximise their self-potential, helping them to move forward.
  • To provide the general public with advice and information regarding acquired brain injury and to raise awareness of its causes and effects, leading to a greater understanding of the disability.
  • To advocate and lobby for the development of appropriate professional services for people with an acquired brain injury, their families and/or carers.
